Located just 20 miles from the world famous Las Vegas Strip, the Red Rocks of Southern Nevada provide options for climbers of all ability levels. Red Rock Canyon is an excellent place to learn to climb, advance your skills, climb a long multi-pitch route, or combine all of these things for a highly educational program!
When to climb Red Rocks nevada?
You can climb in Red Rock year-round, but the best seasons are spring and fall. Warm temperatures in late fall and early spring make for much more agreeable climbing conditions than other areas in the country during those seasons.

Can you tour Red Rocks Amphitheater?
April – October 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. November – March 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Red Rocks Park and trails open one hour before sunrise and close one hour after sunset on non-show days. Admission is free to visit Red Rocks Park, Amphitheatre, Visitor Center, Trading Post and the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.
Can you rock climb at Joshua Tree?
Over 10,000 climbing routes in Quartz Monzonite granite ―ranging from easy routes for beginners to extreme ones for the most seasoned climbers― make Joshua Tree a world famous mecca for rock climbing. Trad climbing is the star here, although you can also find sport climbing routes and bouldering problems.

1. It’s illegal. Federal laws prohibit taking or damaging National Park wildlife and plants. Joshua trees also are a protected species under state law.

Do you need a permit to climb Garden of the Gods?
Rock Climbing Permit and safety gear are required for any rock climbing activities inside the Park. You can get a permit online or at the information desk in the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. There are areas inside the Park for bouldering. The speed limit throughout the park is 20 MPH.
Can you tailgate at Red Rocks?
Tailgating must be confined to the rear of your vehicle and not interfere with the parking of other vehicles. Tents and canopies are not permitted. Due to the risk of fire, open flame fires and charcoal grills are prohibited. Small gas-controlled grills are allowed unless there are temporary fire bans in effect.
