ChuDat, also known as simply Chu, is an American professional smasher from Falls Church, Virginia who mains the Ice Climbers in Melee. He is widely considered to be the best Ice Climbers player in the world and the greatest Ice Climbers player of all time.

ChuDat is a very well traveled player, who has competed all over North America over his long playing career. He is credited with pushing the Ice Climbers metagame in the early days of competition, as few other players played Ice Climbers at that level, let alone at ChuDat’s level.

The Ice Climbers are great at dealing damage when together, have decent attack speed, and possess a few interesting attacks in their arsenal. Blizzard, their down special move, can freeze opponents and has both Ice Climbers attacking one side whether on the ground or in midair.

ChuDat was involved in a controversial incident at Shine 2017, in which Chu won 3-2 in losers’ eighths over Leffen. However, UCF was turned off during the set, so it was ordered to be replayed; Chu lost the rematch 2-3 and was eliminated at 7th.
