How many types of filter bags are there?
According to the different methods of cleaning dust, bag filters can be divided into 3 types: mechanical shakers, reverse air and pulse jet.
How effective are bag filters?
Unlike electrostatic precipitators, where performance may vary significantly depending on process and electrical conditions, functioning baghouses typically have a particulate collection efficiency of 99% or better, even when particle size is very small.
How often should bag filters be changed?
Usually they will get an opinion regarding the “recommended service life” of their particular filter from the bag supplier or an outside air pollution control consultant. These so-called “experts” will recommend a replacement schedule of some fixed amount of time. (every 6 months, or 1 yr, or two years, etc.)

What is pulse jet bag filter?
A pulse jet bag filter also called a pulse jet baghouse or pulse jet dust collector is a self-cleaning dry filtration system. The pulse jet dust collector cleaning system removes particulate matter and dust from the surface of internal filter media with bursts of compressed air.

How long do filter bags last?
Answer: Baghouse filters have an average service life of 1-3 years in most applications. Some can go beyond that without major increases emissions, while others may last less than a year in more difficult applications.
How does a liquid bag filter work?
Bag filters use microfiltration to purify liquids. This process works when the liquid flows through small, permeable pores, capturing debris and sediment in the bag filter as it passes through. The size of the contaminants removed depends on the micron size of the pores.
How do you size a baghouse?
First calculate the total cloth area of your collector by calculating the total filter area of each filter (bag diameter x 3.14 x length ÷ 144 [for number of inches in a square foot] = filter cloth area) and then multiply that figure by the total number of bags in the collector.
