Why is IXL hated?
The problem about IXL is it’s rigged. The point system is glitched and it doesn’t help kids. I looked at recent reviews and it actually makes students less engaged in the lesson IXL has to offer. Also, I found that some of the lessons make you assume genders.

Also, at the same time, ixl is not the most efficient for learning. Teachers just use it because they don’t want to manually grade an assignment or make one. Ixl is really just doesn’t benefit anyone whatsoever. Students might also feel anxiety and anger (which creates hate to the teachers that assigned it).
Is IXL good or bad?
ixl is THE WORST way to help your kids learn. each time you get a question correct, your grade goes up about 2 or 3 points, but when you get one wrong, your grade goes down about 8 or 10 points! ixl causes kids a lot of stress and anxiety. it is a terrible learning website and i really don’t recommend it.

Overall, I think IXL is an excellent practice website. It has a good variety of problem types, good reporting, and is easy to use. It can supplement any math curriculum you currently use, be used for review/reinforcement – or for some summer “fun” math time.
